The fun doesn't need to stop just because the sun went down! Besides superb dining and the typical ski town bar hoping, Steamboat Springs has a lot of family friendly night time activities available during the ski season. Here is a list of some ideas for a fun night out with the family. 
 
 
Night Skiing
There is nothing like the thrill of being out on the mountain after dark. For a second season Steamboat Ski Resort is giving you the opportunity to threat the family to this unforgettable experience. The Christie Peak Express high-speed chairlift whisks you to top of Christie Peak (8,000’) to embark on your night adventure across five trails including Sitz, See Me, Vogue, Stampede and Lil’ Rodeo. All levels of skiing and riding are available with two beginner, two intermediate and one advanced trail. Stay up late for a cruise down 1,100 vertical feet of terrain under the starry mountain sky and state-of-the-art Ultra-Tech™ Lighting that make sure you never loose track of your ski partner. If you fly to Steamboat/Hayden(HDN) airport don't forget to show your boarding pass for a free night skiing ticket for the day of your arrival. If your boarding pass is for Tuesday or Wednesday you get a free Thursday night. 
 
Strawberry Park Hot Springs
Relaxing in 104 degree mineral water while Steamboat’s famous Champagne Powder gently collects in the surrounding forest is as exciting for kids as it is for adults. That is why an evening at the Strawberry Park Hot Springs is a must for any Steambot Spring vacation.The Strawberry Park Hot Springs, located less than 7 miles from downtown, features therapeutic, thermal pools with temperatures from 101 - 105 degrees in a rustic mountain setting. The blending of pure natural beauty and the unique stone masonry of the pools creates a truly unforgettable experience. Facilities include restrooms, a tipi and heated cabin for changing, and picnic areas. Private areas available for Watsu and table massage. Strawberry park hot springs promotes family friendly environment but the late hours of the evening are for adults - 18+ years old. 
 
Moonlight Snowshoe
Snowshoeing is a great winter activity perfect for all ages and fitness levels. It is even more exciting when you get to do it at dusk or after dark. Do not skip the opportunity to experience the outdoors Steamboat Springs has to offer on snowshoe in this most intimate setting. Steamboat Ski Resort offers a guided evening tour with a dinner. The tour departs from the Information Center at 5:30 p.m. At 6:00 p.m. you will get ready to upload the Steamboat Gondola and ride to 9,100 feet. You will snowshoe around the nature trail (approximately one mile) and learn all about the forest the ski area and surrounding community. The tour lasts about one hour. The tour will end back at the Thunderhead building where you will be escorted to Hazie’s for a wonderful dinner with views of the lights and the Yampa Valley. On Full moon nights Yampatika offers a guided tour also. These moon lit tours give you the opportunity to explore the beauty and history of Emerald Mountain, and Howelsen Hill.
