Activities for the whole family to enjoy in Steamboat springs this holiday season

Spending the holidays in Steamboat springs is an unforgettable experience. The western traditions of the small town blend with the magic of the holiday season to offer unlimited fun Rocky Mountain style. No matter if you are visiting to ski fluffy powder, watch Santa ride his horse into town or enjoy scenic snow shoe adventure you will not be disappointed. Here is a list  of some fun family-friendly events not to be missed this holiday season:
 
 
Holiday Festival - Dec. 18
Start the holiday celebration Steamboat style on Dec. 18 at gondola square. See Santa ride down the slopes on horseback and meet Santa at his workshop along with some of his favorite reindeer friends. Participate in the stocking scramble and collect free holiday treats at surrounding stores and restaurants. Additional festivities include a cookie decorating, story time and a special holiday concert by the Face Vocal Band as seen on NBC’s the Sing Off and America’s Got Talent. The party continues after dark with a torch light parade and fireworks followed by night skiing.
Detailed festival schedule: 
 
• 2:00pm Santa Parade on Horseback (Beginning at Slopeside ending in Gondola Square)
• 2:00-4:00pm Free Holiday Cookie Decorating
• 2:00-5:00pm Stocking Scramble (Check in at the tent in Gondola Square to collect your stocking & gather free treats at participating shops and restaurants in the mountain village)
• 2:00-4:00pm Toast to the season complimentary Korbel® and holiday cupcakes in gondola square
• 2:30-5:30pm Meet Santa at Santa’s Workshop
• 2:30-3:30pm Meet Santa’s Reindeer Friends
• 2:30-4:00pm Face Vocal Band Performance
• 4:00-4:30 Story Time on Steamboat Stage
• 5:30pm Torchlight Parade and Fireworks
• Open for night skiing immediately following
 
Holiday Family Show - Dec. 23
 
Science and magic are the same thing. Therefore, Santa Claus must be the greatest scientist alive. Join Doktor Kaboom as he attempts to learn the secrets behind making reindeer fly, getting down those tight chimneys and knowing who's been bad or good. Will he succeed? Best for ages 5+
 
Santa's Workshop - Dec. 21 through 23
Make sure to visit Santa's Workshop at the Sheraton Steamboat Resort. He will be there vevry day from 5pm and 7 pm between 21 and 23 of December. Check with Santa before Christmas to be sure he has your wish list.  
 
Family Fun Party - Dec. 31
The prfect family New Year celebration is hosted by Steamboat Ski Resort from 5:30 to 9:30 on New Year's Eve at The Steamboat Grand Ballroom. This fun event will includ dinner, live DJ, activities with We're Not Clowns, face painting and a very speciall Countdown to 2017.
