Celebrate the New Gondola at Steamboat

November 13, 2019

As noted before, with all of October and early November snowstorms, Steamboat Resort announced it will open early for the earliest open ever!  Get ready for the 2019/20 ski and ride season ahead at Steamboat as the resort is opening on Friday, November 15th.  This is great news for the ski industry and gives about 5 months of winter to ski and ride the ‘Boat this year!

Winter came a tad earlier than expected to Steamboat with the record breaking snow in October – almost 60 inches of snow blanketed the mountains.  The colder temperatures have also allowed for non-stop snowmaking.  Opening Day was moved up to this coming weekend giving skiers and riders a chance to enjoy 10 trails and 1,100 vertical feet!

Daily lift tickets will be sold at $50 until November 23rd.  The Ikon and Steamboat passes are valid for access.

Come back on Saturday, November 23rd to celebrate the opening of the new Steamboat Gondola.  This will be fun to be the first to experience the new ride.  At 7:30 a.m. the festivities kick off right in Gondola Square with complimentary Korbel Mimosas and Champagne Powder Donuts.  Toast the christening of the new gondola with a delicious mimosa in hand!  There will also be special performances by the Northern Ute Indian Tribe Dancers and a presentation to the Steamboat Springs Winter Sports Club.  Get there early for free classic Steamboat t-shirts designed by local shop, Ohana.

Put Steamboat on your list to visit this early winter season as there is a lot of fun to be had at the resort as well as around the lively town.  Check out www.steamboat.net for more information on lodging and things to do.
