Happy bluebird powder day from the ‘Boat. Holy cow Steamboat has received SO MUCH SNOW! I thought January was going to be the snowiest month, however February is catching up pretty quickly. So far this season, Steamboat has reported 292 inches of snow. It’s going to be a celebration when we cross the 300 inch mark which is projected this week!
Last weekend over Valentine’s Day and Presidents Day weekend, Steamboat hosted the annual Balloon Glow. It was the perfect way to celebrate the love and joy with loved ones, friends or family, or even strangers watching the hot air balloons illuminate the sky with a beautiful snowy mountain back drop. This was all capped off with a torchlight parade and fireworks. The icing on top was the 20 inch powder day the next day!
Coming up this weekend is the annual WinterWonderGrass festival taking place Friday, February 21st through Sunday night of February 23rd. This is the only outdoor winter music festival and it’s a must to put on your list.
WinterWonderGrass 2020 will feature music by Greensky Bluegrass, Margo Price & Billy Strings, plus sets by Keller Williams and the Keels, Nikki Lane, The Travelin’ McCourys, Molly Tuttle, Horseshoes & Hand Grenades, The Bluegrass Generals, Della Mae, AOL, Lindsay Lou, Pickin’ on the Dead, Cris Jacobs, Che Apalache, Jon Stickley Trio, Meadow Mountain, Twisted Pine, Jay Roemer Band, Buffalo Commons, Bowregard and more special guests.
While the weekend pass is still sold out, there are single-day tickets for sale for Friday and Sunday single day. Click here to get more details. https://lyte.com/r/18Unv7G6ir
The best part of this festival, kids are allowed and free with an adult ticket. There are warming tents with activities as well as live music playing both inside the tents and then the headliners on the outdoor stage. It’s truly an amazing experience and I can’t wait to go again this year.
