Here in Steamboat we have a fun twist on Octoberfest – our unique celebration is called OktoberWest. It’s where craft beer meets western fun with sunshine, music, mountains, biking, food, entertainment and beef. Yes, beef. There is beef cook-off between participating restaurants. For all my vegetarian friends, I promise you will have a great time with other food samples, or simply enjoy the Colorado craft beer samples with the most spectacular mountain backdrop.
Kick off the weekend Friday night with a Beer Stroll and entertainment in downtown Steamboat Springs. Meet at the Chief Theater for a pre-party to pick up your tasting mug and a map of the participating restaurants with a full list of beers and the culinary fare. You will stroll through historic downtown where you can try the beers at over 20 participating restaurants. Each stop on the stroll will offer 2 specialty beers on tap. Cost of the ticket for the Beer Stroll includes your mug and tastings. Must be 21 or over to join. Purchase tickets online or at the door.
On Saturday, September 15, the event starts at 2:00 p.m. in Gondola Square, located at 2305 Mt. Werner Circle. The Beer Garden features over 40 Rocky Mountain craft brewers. The infamous Beef Cook-off is where our local chefs hope for your vote of the best beef brisket in town. Enjoy live music by Euforquestra. The concert is free for everyone to attend.
