Ski Free Sundays!

February 13, 2018

Is there such a thing as FREE skiing?!?  There is in Steamboat Springs at Howelsen Hill ski area.  Howelsen Hill is the oldest operating ski area in Colorado.  Its claim to fame as the local olympic training ground for many winter olympians.  With alpine, bumps, freestyle, nordic, ski jumps and even fat biking trails, you can't beat this quaint but olympic grade mountain!  Ski the same trails as Steamboat olympians just steps from downtown.  Simply stop into the lodge to pick up your free ticket, which is required to access the ski lifts and the Nordic trails on these special Ski Free Sundays.

My personal favorite Howelsen Hill activity is to take my young kids cross country skiing on the beginner nordic trails at Howelsen Hill.  They are perfectly groomed and flat riding around the rodeo arena.  My kids get a kick out of being at the rodeo grounds on skis.  They recall their favorite rodeo performance and reminise in the beautiful views.  You can't beat this quaint but olympic grade mountain!

Ski Free Sundays happens from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. every Sunday through March 11, 2018.  Simply stop into the lodge to pick up your free ticket, which is required to access the ski lifts and the Nordic trails on these special Ski Free Sundays.
