With over 75 local restaurants in Steamboat Springs, there is no shortage of variety, fun and flare to cater to every type of eater. Below are a few of my favorites, however I encourage you to check out the dining guide or Steamboat Chamber website with a comprehensive list of restaurants and menus here.
For ski-in/ski-out dining, Slopeside Grill is a desirable spot where they serve lunch, après, dinner and late night 7 days a week. My personal favorite is to après ski with a wood fired pizza, nachos and a pitcher of Colorado craft beer on the outdoor patio. The lawn and patio cater to large groups and families, where there is plenty of room to eat and drink while the kids run around and play on the snow. Slopeside Grill is also appealing when you want to post up at the bar or grab a comfortable table for a lively ski restaurant feel. Watch your favorite football game on one of the many tv’s, or just kick up those tired legs to watch the skiers passing by with your favorite hot beverage in hand. Slopeside Grill has something for everyone.
Head downtown to Mahogany Ridge Brewery for happy hour or for a dinner out on the town. The ambiance is lively and offers a modern brewery feel with local art and comfortable contemporary setting. Happy hour is a hit with half off drinks and $1 tapa menu ranging from steak tacos to Alaskan crab tostadas. Try a beer flight or a signature cocktail, paired perfectly with your meal.
Aurum Food and Wine is another popular happy hour and dining spot located on the Yampa River with views of Historic Howelsen Hill (the oldest operating ski area in Colorado). Enjoy happy hour at the sleek bar, or have a romantic date night as you gaze out the window watching the river flow through the snowy river banks.
For a unique Steamboat experience that is sure to leave you with lasting memories, make a reservation to eat on top of the mountain at Hazies restaurant, Western BBQ, or sleigh ride dinner to Ragnars. All are accessed from the top of the gondola with sweeping mountain views and an evening the whole family will remember.
