Steamboat Resort Welcomes Every Ability

January 16, 2021

What a fun winter we are having so far at Steamboat Resort. We are thanking our lucky stars to safely be open this winter for skiers and riders to enjoy the mountain. The resort continues to follow Covid-19 safety protocols such as wearing masks in lift lines and inside restaurants, restrooms, etc. Other safety measures include spacing six feet apart while in lines or inside. These are the measures that will help Steamboat Resort (and other mountains) stay open for the duration of the winter. This is a good thing - so lets keep up the good work and follow the rules.

My kids and I have enjoyed beautiful groomer days and a few powder days to swoosh through the fresh ‘champagne’ snow. Steamboat has trademarked the name for Champagne Powder because it is no joke; the powder is as dry, smooth and tasty as champagne.

Currently, it is snowing in Steamboat Springs. We will take every inch of it. While it has been somewhat dry this season, the mountain has filled in nicely with all kind of terrane open for every skier type.

The steep double black runs off of Morningside Lift just opened last week. A few friends enjoyed the first powder runs after ski patrol dropped the rope.  My favorite are the soft, rolling groomers on Wally World (accessed from Sunshine and Sundown Lift). This area is great for kids as well as somewhat new/intermediate skiers.

Looking to test your adrenaline with ski treeing? Many tree runs are filling in, however it is important to know where you are going and still take caution from all the trees that blew down in a fall storm.

Wherever you head on the mountain, you are up for smiles, ‘hoots and hollers’ and friendly resort employees to care for your enjoyment and safety.

Take advantage of great lodging deals by visiting www.steamboat.net. It’s not too late to book your winter vacation to Steamboat. The next few months of skiing and riding are ready to welcome you to the ‘Boat. See you on the slopes!
